Great book for people that love crime. Awesome add to a book shelf! It’s eye catching and informative. Bought for a friend who’s so busy with kids and work to actually invest in reading a novel but she loved this.

Even for a seasoned reader of true crime novels and stories, This book is presented in a manner that I feel most people would enjoy. The stories are short but factual and you can always research the crimes on your own. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to other books on other topics.

This is an excellent book for what it is - an overview and short synopsis of 99 real-life crimes. The book is separated into major categories (organized crime, murder, kudnapping, etc). I recommend this book. Please mark if you find my review helpful. Thank you so much!

While this book is not a comprehensive encyclopedia of crime, it makes a judicious selection of some of the more famous (or infamous) acts of man's inhumanity to man. It manages to present just enough examples of each category of criminal activity without just becoming a boring litany of bad behavior. I must admit, it can be a bit depressing to see the depths some of our fellow human beings can sink to, but it is a compelling read non the less.

Should have checked the size before I purchased it, but it was much larger than I had thought. It is less the size of a book and more the size of a textbook.

Another great book from DK. Arrived fast and in perfect shape. No complaints.

Pretty interesting stories but a couple I knew really well and they differed from books that only were written about that one subject.

The criminal conducts are categorized and organized really well, truly easy to understand and also a lot of extra info on that topic of crime. Really good for people interested in the different areas of crime as it covers all such. As well as the design’s been done very aesthetically and without cluttering everything.

Great informative book but consider age and maturity of the reader.Our eldest had the book when became interested in murder mystery genre. She enjoyed it. She had the maturity to avoid more grisly pages if she needed to.A couple of years later our youngest aged 10 took it from the bedroom of the eldest child and was upset by some content. I’m also upset I allowed this to happen.It’s not gratuitous. Not all crimes in the book are of this darker nature. It does include in clearly categorised chapters Myra Hindley/Ian Brady and similar. Words such as rape, torture, kidnap, abuse, parenticide, are used. It’s fascinating, correct and appropriate for a teen.
