When traveling, I'm always worried about carbon monoxide, especially in airbnbs with no smoke detectors or CO detectors. We took this on a trip to Italy, and it worked perfectly. When on a plane, we removed the batteries just to make sure it didn't get bumped and set off the test sound. Then, when we got to our next location we would reinstall the batteries and set it near the bed. Super easy to use, just put in the batteries and go. Also note that I did test this. I got this one and a more expensive digital Safe Alert one. I tested both with my car exhaust. This one alerted, and the safe alert never did.

I bought this because we were staying at a condo in Mexico, the VRBO listing and several reviewers mentioned that there was NOT a carbon monoxide detector. We bought this for that trip and were very happy. It is small and easily packed into our luggage, was very loud when tested, and the screen was easy to read and understand.

I noticed when looking up this purchase (April 2023) to write a review, that the round wall mount smoke/carbon monoxide was not available anymore. The reason for my 1 star deduction is because it eats batteries. Just changed them again this morning (low battery alarm went off in the middle of the night). That makes 3 batteries ever 3 months. But on the upside it does work. It went off for some smoke and carbon monoxide. I will probably change in the future though, batteries are expensive.

I used these for my family's most recent vacation. One was placed in each of the sleeping areas. Each detector requires 2 AAA batteries. The directions say to place closer to the ceiling as carbon monoxide is lighter than air. I did not use the included screws since placement was temporary. Instead I attached them to the wall using command strips for easy removal and to avoid damaging walls. Easy to use and felt safe during our stay.

Simple to use !!! With the recent deaths in hotels while people were on vacation we decided to try this one out. It gave us peace of mind while while traveling over seas. Light weight. We removed the bateries each morning so we knew the batteries would be good for the whole trip. Thank You for the security while away from home. Angel

Perfect size to use at home or when traveling.

With a smoke detector and co2 alarm I want them to be as loud as possible so you can't possibly miss their warnings. With this thing if it goes off and you are in the room next door odds are you won't hear it. Yeah, it is that quiet.I hit the test button and waited for the ear piercing beep. Nope! I figured maybe the button needed to be held down longer for the real, life saving beep. Again, nope! I like all aspects of this except the low noise level, which defeats the purpose in my mind.
