I would say yes, please ensure that the base of the sandpit is smooth and free from stones etc. Also the ground should be free draining to allow rain / water to drain through the membrane.

Hi , I guess you could , I’ve used it to protect my soakaway so it’s buried under the ground but obviously not dig it up to check

I wouldn't recommend it, the fabric allows water through so would not help to protect it from the rain.

It could be used…….but as it’s white in colour it may grin through the gravel. I would be inclined to select a dark/ black geo textile fabric which will do the same job, make sure it is porous for drainage purposes.
