Q: Why is it so expensive?

We are a small business, making our product in the USA, our manufacturer charges us based on our order volume. Basically, we need to sell more to be able to lower our price. Q: Once opened, how long will it keep in the refrigerator? Can I freeze the sauce in freezer bags also?

If handled properly, Nomato sauce should keep for a week or two in the refrigerator. You can freeze leftover Nomato sauce in freezer safe containers.

Q: Are they still using rice syrup as the sweetener or did they change it? kind of missing out on a market for paleo/aip/grain free dieters.

Yes, It is Brown Rice Syrup . I'm not familiar with the requirements of a paleo/aip/grain free diet ...but I would imagine that rice (being a grain) would definitely disqualify it from your diet . Their main focus is no tomatoes in the recipe .
