So far this laptop (acer aspire 3 laptop, ryzen 7 5700u 16 GB ram), has met my expectations as a budget laptop for working remotely, personal everyday usage like web surfing, casual gaming (non AAA, older mmos and such) and have yet to upgrade the ram but is indeed upgradable.Heres the cons straight up: During setup the fans are sooo loud. But you just have to let it do its thing and keep it on a flat non-fabric surface (like the box it came in, for me) so the fans can work until windows 11 is fully installed.If you experience the really loud fan noise even after setup, straight out of the box (as i and other reviewers have) then simply lookup how to change the power plan and decrease maximum battery power to 98% or 97% instead of 100% (it will still run loud under heavy load, of course, but now its not happening at random! scrolling chrome is actually totally silent 99% of the time even with loads of tabs open, plus spotify, plus digital drawing apps, plus maybe even discord. still runs really loud fans during gaming but fans when on flat surface seem to effectively prevent overheating on casual gaming software which is really the only software these integrated graphics can meaningfully support)Buy this, upgrade the ram from 16 gb (not sure how high you can go?) then also get a cooling pad off here and keep it on the pad, and keep both of them on a flat surface and reduce max battery to 97%. do not choose the options that say 'limit to 80% battery charging when plugged in to conserve battery life' its not actually helpful and is pretty much a myth at this point, its okay to let the battery get to 100% charge. keep the laptop plugged in as much as you can if you want to actually extend life because when plugged in it relies on main supply more and battery less thus saving the actual battery's life span. I did not include photos but its a pretty device, i like it, actually way better build quality than any of the reviewers said, heavier than my old i3 laptops ive had in the past but almost same thickness. Looks almost like a new hardware but older software since i had to update windows 11 so much to get up to current version. If you can get this for less than $400 its a good deal, because the base price of 400 is already a good deal in itself.

The price is very good. The quality is as good or better! What more could ask for? My copies are better than ever. TerryB

This seller claims that this laptop comes with a 4.3 GHz CPU processor (the reason I bought it) when it's only a 1.8 GHz processor. As I was doing the setup I noticed the laptop was too slow, I checked the CPU processor speed it was only 1.8 GHz a lot lower than others non-brand laptops. Thank you for reading 🙏

It's not touch screen and doesn't have backlit keyboard. For the money, good buy.

I like the laptop but the screen was always dim and I had trouble reading text. I found no way to increase the contrast or make it better so I returned it.

What can I say, I purchased this laptop as a low cost option to use for office applications and some video viewing. I was completely impressed with the expansion options with this laptop. First you can install 2 thats right 2 nvme drives inside the laptop for redundant storage. The laptop works great with Windows or Linux.I thought I would try maxing this baby out by overloading it. I setup 29 docker containers running proxy server, and other services simultaneously. Also attached dual hard drive caddies to all of the usb ports setting up RAID across all of the disks. The laptop passed with flying colors.
