Literally a must have. I slice mushrooms, whole olives, eggs. It's great because you get even slices allowing for even cooking. So easy to clean, and dishwasher (top rack) safe.

Best egg slicer I have ever owned. It cut through the egg like butter. A little difficult to clean.

My original reason for buying the Prepworks Egg Slicer was because it was one of the few with a half-egg splitter for making deviled eggs, but I can highly recommend it based on how well the wires have held up.I've used this egg slicer daily for over a month and well more than 100 eggs -- and the wires are still tight and intact. The big issue with many of the egg slicers that use cutting wires, is that the wires either loosen or break -- I bought another product (the Casabella Hand Held Egg Slicer) and it arrived with one of its ten wires loose (to the point where the wire would miss the cutting slot and not cut the egg) -- in contrast, the Prepworks Egg Slicer wires have been rock solid.Most often I use the multi-slice cutter and also the half-egg cutter (for deviled eggs), less so the wedge cutter. I do gently hand wash the wires rather than use the dishwasher, so that may or may not be part of why the product has held up so well.One other thing to note, in case it makes a difference to you for food-presentation purposes is that the Prepworks multi-slice cutter is optimized for cutting the egg lengthwise rather than cross wise -- so you end up with "egg shaped" slices rather than round slices. --

I bought this a couple of months ago because my old hinged one was "lost". (Turns out my daughter borrowed it, but she hasn't returned it yet.) I thought being able to cut eggs neatly in half (to prep devilled eggs) or in wedges for salad would be great. Those parts of the slicer work very well, although I think 4 wedges would be better. They seemed a little skimpy.The main reason I use an egg slicer is for tuna and macaroni salad, (every week, for my husband) and for potato salad in the summer. Unfortunately, the egg white pieces kept getting stuck underneath the bottom of the slicer, and I kept having to get in there with the tip of a steak knife after every egg. I sliced a dozen eggs into the thin strips and it took almost half an hour. It takes 5 minutes with my old hinged one.So, nothing I would buy again.

I eat a lot of hard boiled eggs in salads so it gets used a lot. Also have used it on strawberries. Love the different cuts it can do. Would recommend.
