The hooks were perfect but the rivets were a bit too shallow for the work boot material that I was working on and kept popping lose. Will have to find some different rivets. Don't know if it is my inexperience or an issue with the rivets but time will tell with new rivets.

The hooks are nice. The rivets are trash. make sure that you buy real rivets and a good punch, and you will be set. Used these to repair a lace hook that broke.

I wanted to change the eyes on my hikers to hooks so purchased these to accomplish this. The hooks are lighter weight that I hoped and the rivets are pretty short. The hooks will work, despite being thin. I will also need to dress the edges as they are a bit square(sharp) and I am afraid they will abrade the laces. Now the riots re another matter. They are really small in diameter, and very short. I think they are designed for plain leather with no padding. On my hikers I think the sidewall with liner, exterior leather, and padding will be too thick. So I would not recommend these for any type of hiker or logger boot. I am not really happy with my purchase, though I will attempt to use them.
